Nationals and residents of the UAE can now access medical consultation via phones though Prime Hospital Dubai’s telehealth platform, Tele Prime, licensed by the Dubai Health Authority.

The service is currently available for existing patients of Prime, who can book an appointment for the telehealth service through 04-707 0777. During consultation, a patient’s attending doctor will use a platform to communicate with them, while viewing his/her medical record. The doctor will then issue an electronic prescription to Medi Prime Pharmacy, who will ensure that the medicines to homes without any additional charges. Patients shouldn’t worry much about availing the Tele Prime service, as it is approved by most insurance networks in the UAE, which cover consultations and medication plans.

Dr Jamil Ahmed, Managing Director of Prime Healthcare Group, said: “Access to primary health care for all is a critical factor that cannot be compromised and should be the basic right of all human beings. At Prime Healthcare, we firmly believe that due to Covid-19 spreads, people shall stay at home and safe from infections; more so, with the Tele Prime initiative, a timely medical service that allows you to continue your treatment with your own doctor from the comfort and safety of your home – right from diagnosis and medical prescription over the phone, to pharmacy delivery straight to homes.

“Given our already extensive network of medical centres across the UAE, Tele Prime will support us in getting a step closer to our vision of offering healthcare for all. This service will be the first of its kind that caters to UAE’s patients through their own doctors that have been following their cases for years at low risk. We are confident that Tele Prime will enjoy a high uptake among our patients, particularly those who can now gain easy access to their own doctors, and therefore, to quality healthcare at home or anywhere they are,” Dr Ahmed said.
