Pacific Nations Dive into Juncao Technology Training

34 representatives from across the Pacific region are currently participating in a week-long training program at the Legalega Research Station in Nadi, which aims to harness knowledge of Juncao technology. According to the sourcethis training program is a significant step towards utilizing innovative agricultural practices to address poverty and environmental sustainability.

During the official opening, Undersecretary of Agricultural Development, Dr. Tekini Nakidakida, emphasized Juncao Technology’s potential to alleviate poverty and create a sustainable environment, highlighting its proven benefits in China and its global diffusion. He stressed the importance of sharing this knowledge for the benefit of humanity.

Since the opening of the demonstration site in Legalega, approximately 2,400 participants have been trained on Juncao Technology through 52 sessions, illustrating its growing importance. This technology has garnered attention from individuals like Monika Tautuiaki, a livestock manager from Tonga who attended the training. She expressed her gratitude for the opportunity and highlighted Juncao’s potential to help her native island combat poverty and unemployment.

The week-long training includes sessions on various aspects of Juncao technology such as planting, harvesting, and processing Juncao grass and mushrooms. The event is being facilitated by experts from the Ministry of Agriculture and Waterways, Fujian Agricultural and Forestry University, and other relevant institutions.

This collaborative effort signifies a commitment to equipping Pacific island countries with tools and knowledge needed to address agricultural challenges and foster sustainable development through Juncao Technology. It showcases how innovation in agriculture can pave the way for economic growth and environmental conservation in the Pacific region.
