Fox Chase Cancer Center urologic oncologist Andres F. Correa, MD, has been recognized as the Reviewer of the Month by the prestigious journal European Urology for March 2024. Dr. Correa expressed his gratitude for the honor, highlighting the opportunity to stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in urologic oncology research through his involvement in the journal’s review process.
In addition to his role as a reviewer for European Urology, Dr. Correa serves as the Director of Research in the Department of Urology at Fox Chase Cancer Center and holds the position of Assistant Professor. He is also the Fellowship Director for the Society of Urologic Oncology.
Dr. Alexander Kutikov, Chair of the Department of Urology, commended Dr. Correa’s exceptional expertise and dedication, emphasizing the international recognition that comes with being named Reviewer of the Month by European Urology. Dr. Correa, who completed his Society of Urologic Oncology Fellowship at Fox Chase, returned to the center in 2020 after obtaining his medical degree from the University of Maryland School of Medicine.
With a background in various surgical modalities, including robotics, laparoscopy, and traditional open surgery, Dr. Correa specializes in treating prostate, kidney, bladder, testicular, and other genitourinary cancers. Dr. Correa is an active member of several medical associations, including the American Medical Association, National Hispanic Medical Association, American Urological Association, and the Society of Urologic Oncology. He has published numerous articles in peer-reviewed journals and presented at academic meetings, showcasing his expertise in the field of urologic oncology.
