Contracts for the Event, a New Legal Topic under Dodd Frank Act
Contracts for the event have become a very complex and difficult topic due to the many nuances involved. These markets, known as event contracts, are part of our law added under the Dodd Frank Act. In the grand scheme of things, this is relatively new, but we have seen interest in these contracts for a long time and it is definitely rising. The way Congress presented it to us, these contracts in general are okay, as long as they focus on some topics, such as gaming, warfare, terrorism, killing – anything that violates federal law. There are some people who really do not like these contracts in elections and want to include them in this list.
