Dubai, UAE – 19 January 2023- Smile Train, the world’s largest cleft-focused organization, today announced its first-ever Emirati brand ambassador – MC Saif. MC Saif is a motivational speaker, radio emcee and book author based in Dubai. He will be working closely with Smile Train Dubai, headed by Ms. Afaf Meky, to further raise awareness and conduct fund-raising initiatives to help and support Smile Train’s mission of changing the world, one smile at a time.

Every day, 540 babies around the world are born with a cleft, a serious health condition with potentially life-threatening complications such as difficulty eating, breathing, hearing, and speaking. Because the cost of cleft care is too high for millions of families, Smile Train not only enables free surgery for children with clefts in more than 90 countries but also supports comprehensive cleft care every step of the way.
Children born with clefts need more than just surgery. They may also need nutritional support, dental care, orthodontic treatment, and speech therapy. Smile Train is committed to treating the whole patient through programs that provide access to important comprehensive cleft care services.
Comprehensive cleft care includes essential treatments beyond cleft surgery, such as nutrition services, orthodontic and general dental care, speech therapy and emotional support, intended to ensure long-term, successful rehabilitation for Smile Train’s cleft patients.
Last year, Smile Train announced its partnership with Arabian Healthcare Group’s flagship brand, RAK Hospital, to conduct about 30 free surgeries a year for children affected by cleft lip and/or palate in the UAE and across the Middle East.
