New Chief Executive Appointed by Society of Antiquaries

The Society of Antiquaries of London has announced the appointment of Natasha McEnroe as their new General Secretary & Chief Executive, starting in April. McEnroe, who previously served as Keeper of Medicine at the Science Museum for seven years, brings with her a passion for history that President Martin Millett believes will lead the society into an exciting new chapter.

In her new role, McEnroe aims to support historic research and share knowledge with a diverse audience to enhance public understanding of the past and the valuable lessons it can offer. The society’s lease at Burlington House has been secured for the future, with a 999-year leasehold agreement granted after discussions with The Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities.

Burlington House is also home to other prestigious organizations such as the Geological Society of London, Linnean Society of London, Royal Astronomical Society, and the Royal Society of Chemistry. Additionally, the Society of Antiquaries owns Kelmscott Manor, the former residence of William Morris and his family.
