Embodied Carbon Discussed at ULI Spring Meeting

Embodied Carbon Discussed at ULI Spring Meeting

The KPF Sustainable Design Director, Carlos Cerezo Davila, is set to present “The Sweet Spot” on April 10. This talk will delve into the intricate tradeoffs between embodied and operational carbon in the realm of sustainable building design. Joining Carlos is Teresa Moroseos, a Post-Doctoral Scholar from the Integrated Design Lab (IDL) at the University of Washington’s College of Built Environments. Together, they will emphasize the necessity of meeting net zero goals and shed light on the tradeoffs that real estate professionals must consider to create a low-carbon built environment from the construction phase to the end of a building’s life cycle.

The presentation will draw from research conducted by KPF, the University of Washington’s Integrated Design Lab, and ULI Greenprint. The ULI Spring Meeting, taking place from April 9 to 11 at the New York Hilton Midtown, will host Carlos’ presentation on April 10 at 10 am. For more information, visit the event’s website.

In addition to Carlos’ talk, Principal Forth Bagley will be discussing central social districts, and ULI will showcase KPF projects on three different tours during the event.
