‘City of Charlotte Places 3rd in Study on Electric Vehicle Expansion’

A recent study has highlighted Charlotte’s progress in becoming one of the most improved cities for electric vehicles (EVs). The Queen City secured the third spot in the ranking of most improved cities, with Raleigh, Durham, and Fayetteville also making it to the top ten list.

In terms of state rankings for EV growth, North Carolina claimed the fifth spot, with a significant increase of nearly 27 percent in its residents-per-charger ratio. This growth outpaced the national average, which saw a 18.9 percent increase in the same ratio.

However, the study also revealed that Greensboro and Winston-Salem are among the least EV-friendly cities, indicating room for improvement in these areas.

The study, conducted by iSeeCars and utilizing data from the U.S. Department of Energy, analyzed EV charging infrastructure changes from 2022 to 2023.

Overall, the findings suggest that Charlotte and other cities in North Carolina are making significant strides towards enhancing their EV infrastructure and becoming more accommodating for electric vehicle owners. This progress bodes well for the future of electric vehicles in the state.
