Coinbase’s mobile crypto wallet users can now stay informed about on-chain activities with the help of messaging service Notifi. The platform’s first client, GMX, a perpetuals exchange, will provide customers with automated alerts regarding pending liquidations and governance updates, as well as the ability to customize their own notifications.
Notifi CEO Paul Kim emphasized the importance of staying up to date with on-chain activities in an interview, stating, “If you’re not constantly monitoring what’s happening on-chain it’s impossible to keep up.”
This move represents an expansion of Coinbase’s messaging capabilities using the XMTP protocol, which has been in place since last July, allowing wallet users to communicate with each other. Notifi is also leveraging the XMTP protocol to deliver real-time alerts and notifications to users.
