Energy-efficient firm proposes covering customers’ utility expenses: ‘We’re fully invested’

Budderfly, a sustainability-focused company based in Connecticut, is offering a unique and bold proposal to business owners who are looking to improve their energy efficiency. The company not only provides various energy-efficient upgrades but also takes the additional step of paying their clients’ utility bills.

According to the U.S. Department of Energy, about 30% of energy used in commercial spaces is wasted unnecessarily. Budderfly aims to address this issue by upgrading key systems such as refrigeration controls, LED lighting, and HVACs to reduce energy consumption.

To support its operations, Budderfly recently secured a 0 million loan on top of a 0 million investment. CEO Al Subbloie emphasized the company’s commitment by stating, “I want the customer to know we’ve got it all on the line.”

One interesting aspect of Budderfly’s business model is that they only profit when their upgrades successfully reduce their clients’ energy usage. If the upgrades do not deliver results, Budderfly does not receive any payment. However, the company is confident in its technology and approach, incentivizing them to maximize energy savings.

By offering a 5% discount on utilities, Budderfly provides immediate savings to its clients. This discount covers the initial payback costs, with additional revenue generated from further energy savings. As a result, the company has been able to double its revenue and customer base, serving over 6,000 clients and earning 0 million in the previous year.

Budderfly’s success is attributed to its focus on passive building techniques and sustainable living practices. By working closely with clients on long-term contracts, the company ensures significant energy savings over time. Overall, Budderfly’s innovative approach to energy efficiency is making a positive impact on businesses and the environment.
