Eric Hayden Appointed as Interim CIO in Tampa, Fla.

Eric Hayden, a seasoned technology professional in the public sector, has been appointed as the interim chief information officer for the city of Tampa, taking over from former CIO Russell Haupert. Haupert held the position from October 2011 to January 2024, overseeing a team of 128 employees and contractors within the city’s IT department and managing budgets totaling million for operations and million for capital expenses across 33 divisions.

In his new role as interim CIO, Hayden will continue the work started by Haupert by leading Tampa’s Technology and Innovation Department. His promotion to this key position occurred in January, according to his LinkedIn profile.

With his wealth of experience in the technology sector, Hayden is ready to guide Tampa’s IT initiatives and ensure the city remains at the forefront of innovation and digital transformation. His leadership will play a crucial role in driving technological advancements that benefit Tampa’s residents and businesses.
