“Essential Testing Equipment for Future EV Batteries”

“Essential Testing Equipment for Future EV Batteries”

The increasing demand for electric vehicle (EV) batteries with higher capacity is posing challenges for production and research testing. Managers are looking to expand their battery test systems to meet the growing power requirements, but space constraints on the production floor are becoming a limiting factor. Moreover, some test systems are reaching their voltage limits as voltage test requirements escalate.

As voltage and power levels rise, so do safety concerns, and the competition for experienced engineers in safe battery testing is getting fiercer. Additionally, the current design of certain test systems is leading to downtime and throughput bottlenecks, creating operational inefficiencies.

To address these challenges, EA Elektro-Automatik is hosting a webinar that will delve into the critical considerations for ensuring that EV battery testing is prepared for tomorrow. The webinar aims to provide insights and strategies for optimizing EV battery testing systems to meet the evolving needs of the industry.

Consumer demand for faster charging, increased power output, and extended driving range is generating more heat in EV battery packs. Ensuring the safety of battery packs, particularly in preventing thermal runaway, has become a focal point. To manage the increased heat, enhance battery life, and improve safety while maximizing power and energy density, immersion cooling systems are being developed. These systems will require specialized thermal management fluids tailored to meet the requirements of direct cell contact.

Join Lubrizol’s team of thermal management experts in a webinar where they will discuss the essential performance attributes needed for effective thermal management fluids, such as heat management during high charging operations, control of thermal runaway events, and material compatibility. The webinar will shed light on why thermal management fluids need to offer more than just being a base oil.

The Spring Virtual Conference on EV Engineering, scheduled for April 15-18, 2024, will cover a range of topics across the EV engineering supply chain and ecosystem. From motor and power electronics design to battery systems, testing, powertrains, thermal management, and more, the conference content aims to provide valuable insights into the latest advancements in the EV industry. Reserve your spot now to stay informed and engaged with the rapidly evolving world of EV engineering.
