‘HP and Esko collaborate on digital printing packaging production’

HP and Esko have announced a strategic partnership to revolutionize the production of digitally printed packaging. This collaboration aims to streamline the packaging value chain, allowing converters to automate processes and brand owners to take advantage of the unique benefits of digital print for packaging.

Traditionally, the production of packaging involves multiple stakeholders, leading to lengthy delivery timelines. However, with the integrated platform from HP and Esko, contributors can now collaborate on packaging projects in real-time, significantly reducing lead times from months to weeks.

Through an integrated web portal, brand owners can now place orders for customized packaging on-demand, cutting delivery times from weeks to days, reducing inventory, and lowering overall costs. This technology will enhance visibility and control for brand owners while increasing press capacity for packaging converters.

The partnership between HP and Esko will be showcased at drupa 2024, demonstrating mass customization technology that enables automated artwork creation and integrated workflow solutions for converters and brands. This technology empowers brand owners to create more versions, customize packaging, and engage consumers in new and innovative ways.

Noam Zilbershtain, vice president and general manager of HP Indigo and Scitex, emphasized the efficiency and mainstream adoption of packaging customization in the digital print landscape through this partnership. Joel Depernet, president of Esko, highlighted how the integrated solution seamlessly connects third-party solutions into the production workflow, making customization and versioning accessible for every packaging project.

The new technology will be showcased at drupa on the Esko and HP booths, as well as on the drupa touchpoint packaging booth. This integrated solution represents a significant step forward in the digital print industry, offering brand owners and converters a more efficient and effective way to produce and customize packaging.
