‘Johan Ekström, Embracer’s CFO and deputy CEO, to resign’

Embracer Group Announces Leadership Changes

Embracer Group is undergoing significant leadership changes as Johan Ekström, the deputy CEO and chief financial officer, has decided to step down from his role. Ekström, who joined the company in 2019, will remain with Embracer until March 31, 2005, to ensure a seamless transition of his responsibilities before departing for personal reasons.

Effective June 1, Phil Rogers will take on the role of deputy CEO of Embracer Group in addition to his current positions as the CEO of Crystal Dynamics — Eidos and the leader of the newly formed ‘Middle-earth Enterprises & Friends’ division. Furthermore, starting on September 1, the current deputy CFO, Müge Bouillon, will assume the CFO responsibilities previously held by Ekström.

Following these changes, Ekström will devote his time at Embracer Group to focusing on the company’s division into three separate entities. This restructuring has also brought about additions to the executive management team, including Rogers and Anton Westbergh, CEO of Coffee Stain.

CEO Lars Wingefors expressed gratitude towards Johan Ekström for his significant contributions to Embracer’s development and success. Wingefors also warmly welcomed Müge Bouillon as the new permanent CFO, highlighting her extensive international experience and crucial role in the company’s restructuring efforts. Additionally, Wingefors announced Phil Rogers’ expanded role as deputy CEO of the group, showing confidence in his abilities to steer Embracer towards future growth and success.
