New CEO Appointed by Pen Bay Chamber to Make Lasting, Positive Impact

The Penobscot Bay Regional Chamber of Commerce has recently undergone several leadership changes in the past two years. After a national search in 2022, a new leader was hired but resigned a year later for personal reasons. The interim director, Gordon Page, filled the gap before and after this leader. This period of transition followed the departure of CEO Tom Peaco, who had led the chamber for seven years before leaving in June 2022.

This week, the chamber announced the appointment of Shannon Landwehr as the new president and CEO after an extensive search and rigorous application process. Landwehr’s tenure will begin in April, with a focus on supporting and promoting the prosperity of businesses in the region.

“We are confident that Shannon’s wealth of experience, unwavering passion, and innovative ideas will have a positive and lasting impact on our region,” said David Gogel, the chamber’s board chair.

Representing over 700 area businesses, the Pen Bay Chamber is a key player in the local business community. Landwehr, a resident of Owls Head, brings over 20 years of diverse experience in various roles such as operations, planning, marketing, economic development, budgeting, and employee recruitment and retention. She has held positions at Morgan Stanley, Glassman Wealth Services, and as President and CEO of the Economic Alliance of Greater Baltimore.

The board highlighted Landwehr’s familiarity with Maine, interests in the working waterfront, nutritional and mindfulness practices, and involvement with community boards as key factors that make her an ideal leader for the chamber. With her track record of success and experience in various industries, Landwehr is poised to lead the Penobscot Bay Regional Chamber of Commerce into a new era of growth and prosperity.
