“Hack your Health: The Secrets of Your Gut” is now live on the global streaming platform

Abu Dhabi, UAE, May 3, 2024: Hack Your Health: The Secrets Of Your Gut, directed by Anjali Nayer, is a new informative documentary available on Netflix, which features several globally renowned microbiome researchers, including Assistant Professor of Biology at NYUAD Aashish Jha.

The educational documentary provides valuable insights into the digestive system and the critical role gut health plays in people’s overall well-being. Delivered in a lighthearted manner, the documentary features Professor Jha’s current research in investigating gut microbiomes of Nepali populations. Dr. Jha uses genomics to decipher human population histories and microbiomes. His recent work has focused on traditional Himalayan populations and his current research projects include genomics and microbiomics of Nepal, India, Oceania, and the UAE. He is currently a co-investigator at Center of Genomics and Systems Biology and Public Health Research Center at NYUAD.

Professor Jha commented on the release of the documentary: “Gut health has long been considered most important in Ayurveda, an ancient Vedic practice. In modern healthcare and research we are only beginning to appreciate the vital role that this vast number of microbes and their products, collectively known as gut microbiome, plays as the master regulator of our overall health. In this documentary I had the chance to showcase our research on gut microbiomes of Nepali populations and discuss how different factors linked to our lifestyle may affect our gut health.”

The documentary seeks to answer questions such as: what do we need to become healthier and how can we learn more on what is good for our well-being? If you wish to find out more about Hack Your Health: The Secrets Of Your Gut you can visit this link.
