Possible Arrival of Google Gemini on Android Tablets

Possible Arrival of Google Gemini on Android Tablets

Google is expanding its Gemini AI to various products and services, including Android smartphones. However, one area where Gemini support has been lacking is Android tablets. Recent findings from a APK teardown by 9to5Google suggest that this could change soon.

The report highlights Gemini as a potential digital assistant for tablets, with a user experience similar to the Pixel Fold. The Pixel Fold, being a smartphone-tablet hybrid, serves as a reference point for what Gemini could look like on Android tablets.

While the UI may undergo changes in the future, the initial discovery indicates similarities between Gemini on tablets and the Pixel Fold. Interestingly, even with Gemini enabled, Google Assistant remains accessible. When the tablet is docked, users can still activate Google Assistant by saying “Hey Google”.

The exact timeline for Gemini support on Android tablets remains uncertain, but speculation suggests that the Pixel Tablet could be among the first to receive it. Stay tuned for updates on this development.
