‘Vernon Company Boosts Tech Initiatives with Recent Hire’

Vernon Building Society Appoints Stephen Monaghan as Head of IT

Vernon Building Society has announced the appointment of Stephen Monaghan as the new Head of IT. In his new role, Stephen will be responsible for overseeing the transition to a new technology system that will better connect the Vernon to its members, intermediaries, and fintech providers.

Stephen will lead the IT Change team as the Vernon partners with Mutual Vision, a customer-owned technology provider based in Wilmslow. Mutual Vision will be upgrading to a new cloud banking engine from Mambu, bringing a higher level of choice and flexibility to the Vernon’s banking staff.

In a statement, Stephen expressed his excitement about joining Vernon Building Society during their centenary year. He praised the existing high-performing IT team and expressed confidence in their ability to handle transformative projects that will enhance the experience for staff and members.

CEO Steven Fletcher highlighted the importance of reliable and secure software in the finance sector, emphasizing the need to stay ahead of technological advancements. He noted that the IT department has grown significantly in recent years and sees Stephen as an essential part of ensuring a smooth transition to new upgrades that will benefit members for years to come.
