360-Acre Housing and Regional Center Approved in Georgetown

Georgetown Council members have given the green light to a developer’s proposal to change the city’s future land use designation for nearly 362 acres along Ronald Reagan Boulevard and RM 2338. The current designation of neighborhood will be amended to mixed-density neighborhood and regional center. Although the land is currently outside the incorporated limits of Georgetown, the town will eventually have to annex the parcel in the future.

The revised designation paves the way for a new development called Heirloom, which will consist of 255 acres of mixed residential uses, including 35 acres of multifamily housing, 15 acres of commercial developments, and 60 acres of parks and open space. The property is being developed by Columnar Investments.

Heirloom is set to offer up to 3,000 residential units catering to a variety of household sizes and income levels. This will include detached single-family housing on various lot sizes, townhomes, courtyard housing, multifamily housing, and mixed-use housing.

According to Columnar’s website, the company focuses on high-growth regions with strong, sustainable economies and supply-constrained development environments. The Heirloom development aligns with their mission to create thriving communities in strategic locations.
