In a bid to facilitate small value payments with ease, UPI Light was unveiled in September 2022. This payment solution allows users to conduct quick and seamless transactions through an on-device wallet. To drive increased adoption of UPI Light, a new proposal aims to integrate it into the E-mandate framework.
Under this new framework, customers will have the option to set up automatic replenishment for their UPI Light wallets. If the wallet balance falls below a specified threshold, funds will be automatically added to ensure uninterrupted usage. This feature is designed to further streamline the process of making small value digital payments.
By integrating UPI Light with the E-mandate framework, users can enjoy greater convenience and efficiency when conducting transactions. This move is expected to encourage more individuals to embrace digital payment solutions for their everyday needs.
