Closing of House to Home Thrift Store in Mid Florida

Closing of House to Home Thrift Store in Mid Florida

Mid Florida Community Services has announced the closure of its House to Home Thrift Store located at 19450 Cortez Blvd., Brooksville, FL 34601, effective July 31, 2024. The store, which sells new and gently used furniture, appliances, building materials, and more at reduced retail prices, will no longer be accepting donations.

CEO Mat Kline stated that the decision to close the thrift store was difficult but necessary for the organization’s mission, financial, strategic, and competitive reasons. Instead, the focus will shift towards expanding the House to Home program, which addresses the critical need for affordable housing in the service region.

Kline expressed gratitude to the employees, donors, volunteers, and shoppers of the House to Home Thrift Store for their dedication to the organization’s mission. Moving forward, Mid Florida Community Services aims to continue serving Hernando County by strengthening the community through increased affordable housing opportunities.

The thrift store will begin liquidating its inventory, and for updates, individuals can follow the MFCS House to Home Facebook page or contact the store directly at (352) 754-1159. More information is available on the Mid Florida Community Services website.
