‘Company marks anniversary with 58 for 58 giveaway’

Carolina Handling, a leading material handling solutions provider in the Southeast, is marking its 58th anniversary in 2024 with a special initiative called “Handling Hunger Together.” The campaign aims to support hunger relief organizations across the company’s five-state footprint.

Statistics from Feeding America reveal that over 44 million people in the United States experience hunger annually, with 1 in 5 children being affected. In 2022, 49 million individuals relied on food banks and charitable organizations for assistance. To address this ongoing issue, Carolina Handling collected and delivered 8 million pounds of food to feeding organizations in 2023. However, these organizations face challenges in moving large quantities of non-perishable goods and fresh produce without the necessary equipment, such as pallet jacks and lift trucks.

Carolina Handling’s President & CEO, Brent Hillabrand, emphasized the importance of supporting these organizations, stating, “The logistics of distributing thousands of pounds of food can be overwhelming for organizations lacking proper equipment. This is where companies like Carolina Handling can make a difference.”

As part of its anniversary celebration, Carolina Handling is giving away 58 motorized pallet jacks to hunger relief organizations in its service area, which includes North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Alabama, and Florida’s Central time zone. These Raymond 8210 electric pallet jacks, featuring 2016 and newer models with battery packs, will be awarded to qualifying organizations on a first-requested basis. Interested organizations can apply for the equipment on the Carolina Handling website, with all deliveries being conducted at no charge.
