‘Complimentary Dental Services Available for Children Ages 3-21 in Gordon and Sidney on May 31 and June 1’

University of Nebraska Medical Center College (UNMC) College of Dentistry students, along with dental residents and faculty members, are set to visit Gordon and Sidney on May 31 and June 1 for Dental Days. This initiative aims to provide free dental care to children between the ages of 3 and 21 who have limited or no dental insurance. The services will be offered at Gordon Memorial Hospital and Life Smiles in Sidney.

For the past 20 years, Dental Days has been a vital event in the Panhandle, offering essential care to local children. The success of this program is made possible through the collaboration of various partners such as local dentists, school nurses, hospitals, community volunteers, Open Plains Transit, and UNMC. Janelle Visser, from Panhandle Public Health District (PPHD), is one of the key coordinators of this annual event.

Parents who wish to schedule an appointment for their child at the Gordon location can contact Ashlei Tausan at 605-786-6147.

For those interested in securing an appointment for their child at the Sidney location, a prescreening must be completed by May 10 at one of the following dental offices: Bridgeport – Dr. Iske, Chappell – Dr. Dickey, or Sidney – Dr. Dornbier.

Transportation for Dental Days is available at no cost. To arrange transportation, individuals can contact Open Plains Transit at 308-761-8747 by May 17.
