‘Fireblocks completes C-suite team following staff reductions’

Fireblocks has recently announced the appointment of Michal Ferguson as its new Chief Marketing Officer. This comes on the heels of the company bringing on Michael Levine as Chief Financial Officer and Maden Gadde as Chief Customer Officer.

Ferguson comes to Fireblocks from cybersecurity platform Sync, where she served as the Head of Global Demand. In her new role, she will be responsible for driving the adoption of counterparty-risk-free infrastructure among retail and institutional clients.

In a press release, Ferguson expressed her excitement about joining the Fireblocks team during what she called a “pivotal time.” She highlighted the platform’s versatility and its commitment to addressing the evolving needs of the digital assets industry.

These key hires at the executive level follow Fireblocks’ decision to streamline its workforce earlier this year as part of a restructuring effort to enhance its go-to-market strategy and customer support operations.

In other industry news, Crypto.com has named Ryan Fennelly as the new Head of OTC Trading. Fennelly brings a wealth of experience in quantitative trading, particularly in capital markets and interest rate trading, having previously led the OTC EMEA desk at Kraken.

Meanwhile, other notable appointments in the crypto space include a former Morgan Stanley executive joining Prometheum as CFO, Richard Teng reflecting on his initial 100 days as Binance’s new CEO, and Optimism, an Ethereum layer-2 solution, bringing on Amanda Tyler as Head of Marketing.

These appointments underscore the growing importance of talent acquisition within the crypto industry as companies seek to position themselves for long-term success and growth.
