French Retail Customers Can Now Use Tap to Pay on iPhone with BNP Paribas

BNP Paribas has introduced Tap to Pay on iPhone, allowing French retail customers to accept in-person contactless payments through Apple’s technology. This new feature is compatible with CB, Visa, and Mastercard, providing a convenient payment solution for both customers and retailers.

With Tap to Pay on iPhone, users can accept various contactless payments including credit and debit cards, Apple Pay, and other digital wallets directly through the Axepta BNP Paribas app on their iPhone. This eliminates the need for additional hardware or payment terminals, streamlining the payment process for both customers and retailers.

During checkout, employees will prompt customers to hold their contactless card, iPhone, Apple Watch, or digital wallet near the employee’s iPhone to securely complete the payment transaction. This technology is not only convenient but also ensures a quick and secure payment process.

Emmanuelle François, head of Axepta BNP Paribas, expressed the benefits of Tap to Pay on iPhone, stating that it complements the brand’s payment solutions offer by providing a complete digital experience and optimized customer journey. The decision to launch Tap to Pay with CB ensures retailer clients have access to a widely used, robust, economical, and secure network.

Loÿs Moulin, head of business development at CB, also shared his excitement about the partnership, emphasizing how Tap to Pay on iPhone complements CB’s innovative and secure digital omni-channel range of products and services. This collaboration between BNP Paribas and CB guarantees merchant customers access to a secure and reliable payment network that prioritizes security, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
