Givaudan Earns High Score for Supplier Engagement on CDP Rating Leaderboard

Givaudan, a global leader in the flavor and fragrance industry, has recently been recognized for its outstanding commitment to supplier engagement in sustainability efforts. The company has received an ‘A’ score in the CDP’s Supplier Engagement Rating Leaderboard, marking a significant achievement. This recognition comes on the heels of Givaudan being awarded its fifth consecutive CDP double ‘A’ on climate action and water security.

The Supplier Engagement Rating Leaderboard evaluates how companies engage with their supply chain on climate issues, highlighting those who excel in this area. For Givaudan, supplier engagement is crucial in their climate journey, as more than 90% of their total carbon footprint comes from scope 3 emissions. In pursuit of becoming climate-positive by 2050, Givaudan has set ambitious targets to reduce supply chain emissions by 20% by 2030 and 50% by 2040.

Willem Mutsaerts, head of Global Procurement and Sustainability at Givaudan, emphasized the importance of engaging the supply chain in climate action. He stated, “The collective impact we can deliver together is where real change takes place as we advance towards our climate positivity goal. We’re extremely proud of our latest recognition within the Supplier Engagement Rating Leaderboard, but we know that there remains a long journey ahead of us. We must continue to challenge ourselves to go further every day.”

Givaudan’s dedication to sustainability and climate action not only benefits the company but also sets a positive example for the industry as a whole. With their strong commitment to supplier engagement and cutting-edge environmental initiatives, Givaudan is paving the way for a more sustainable future.
