‘Global Experts in Food Innovation to Gather in Dubai in 2024’

The Food Innovation Conference 2024 is all set to begin tomorrow, May 13th, in Dubai. Organized by Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives (MBRGI) and the World Economic Forum (WEF), the event will run until May 15th, focusing on the theme “Reimagining Future Food Systems.”

Taking place at the Museum of the Future and Emirates Towers in Dubai, the conference will bring together over 150 international experts, academics, businesses, and farmers to discuss resilient, inclusive, and sustainable food systems. Panels will delve into topics such as leveraging technology, fostering global cooperation, and addressing trends in sustainable food systems, including the use of AI and data.

Mohammad bin Abdullah Al Gergawi of MBRGI emphasized how the conference aligns with Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum’s vision of fostering innovative solutions for cost-efficient food systems to aid underprivileged communities in times of crises, natural disasters, and climate change. The event aims to support global humanitarian efforts and refugee aid.

The Food Innovation Conference aims to promote knowledge exchange and capacity building through the Food Innovation Hubs Global Initiative, showcasing both national and global technology innovations for sustainable food systems. Keynote speeches and panel discussions will feature prominent figures in the field, with an open exhibition on May 13th and 14th offering interactive experiences to explore modern food technologies and products.

A highlight of the event will be the Food Innovation Hubs Leadership Committee meeting on May 14th, following an agreement between MBRGI and the World Economic Forum in Davos 2022 designating Dubai as the international headquarters for the annual meeting.

Field trips on the last day of the conference, May 15th, will take participants to various sites including farms and production plants in the UAE to showcase innovative practices adopted in the region for food sustainability, while also exploring areas of cooperation and investment.

The Food Innovation Conference promises to be a platform for engaging discussions, networking opportunities, and exploring the future of food systems.
