‘KCx partners with Adaptive to develop an event-driven equities trading system’

Adaptive and Kepler Cheuvreux’s execution division, KCx, have joined forces to create an innovative event-driven trading system utilizing Aeron and Adaptive’s Hydra technology. This partnership aims to revolutionize KCx’s front-office equities execution platform, offering clients a seamless interface to monitor and manage execution flow with enhanced functionality and streamlined workflows.

The new system enhances KCx’s algorithmic trading capabilities by establishing a new technical architecture that connects its global equities trading ecosystem through a sequencer-based framework. Anvar Karimson, CTO at Kepler Cheuvreux, expressed excitement about the collaboration, stating, “Our goal is to provide clients with a sophisticated system that unlocks the full potential of our algorithms and allows for new and exciting ways to utilize our services.”

Through close collaboration with Adaptive, KCx designed and built the new architecture and user interface using Adaptive’s Hydra technology, known for simplifying the development of complex real-time trading systems. Matt Barrett, CEO of Adaptive, emphasized the significance of delivering a high-performance, resilient trading system for a leading broker on a global scale within a short timeframe.

The event-driven trading system is being developed on a hybrid tech stack that can operate on-premises, with future plans to transition to the cloud. By leveraging Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud for development, the firms ensure remote functional testing to guarantee performance meets client expectations upon launch.

The partnership between Adaptive and KCx signifies a commitment to innovation and client-centric solutions, positioning them at the forefront of the evolving financial services landscape. This collaboration demonstrates the power of combining technical expertise and cutting-edge technology to address the dynamic needs of institutions and drive digital transformation within the industry.
