Memorial Day closures and refuse/recycling collection in Fond du Lac

City offices in the City/County Government Center will be closed on Monday, May 27, 2024 in observance of the Memorial Day holiday. Additionally, the Municipal Service Center will also be closed on May 27, affecting services such as refuse and recycling collection and bulky waste drop off. Due to the closure, there will be no refuse and recycling collection on that day.

Residents should note that refuse/garbage typically collected on Monday will instead be picked up on Tuesday, May 28 along with the regular Tuesday collection. Materials should be set out by 5:00 am on Tuesday to ensure collection. Recycling collection, managed by Waste Management, will experience a one-day service delay for the remainder of the week.

Despite the holiday closures, yard waste and brush drop off will still be available during designated hours. City Transit buses will not be operational on May 27 but will resume normal routes the following day. The Senior Center will also be closed on May 27 and reopen on May 28.

Fond du Lac Public Library will be closed from Saturday, May 25 through Monday, May 27, with plans to reopen on Tuesday, May 28. However, essential services provided by the Police and Fire Departments will remain fully operational throughout the holiday period.
