New digital trading card game released on Epic Games Store with parallel gameplay

Parallel Studios is introducing its digital trading card game, Parallel, on the Epic Games Store today. The team behind Parallel includes individuals from renowned companies like Blizzard, Epic Games, Ubisoft, Riot Games, and Xbox Game Studios, aiming to make a significant impact in the card gaming industry.

Parallel is a sci-fi universe-based free-to-play digital trading card game that allows players to collect cards, construct decks, and engage in strategic battles for Earth’s control. Players can combine cards from five factions and a universal pool to create a 40-card deck, set on Earth 10,000 years in the future where five different evolutions of humanity battle for dominance.

What sets Parallel apart from other TCGs like Magic the Gathering and Hearthstone is its free-to-play model that enables players to play and earn cards. Players can participate in weekly and monthly giveaways every season, as well as earn rewards through in-game tournaments, the battle pass, referring friends, and winning ranked matches.

The game requires players to strategically choose which cards to bank each turn to gain energy for playing units, relics, effects, and upgrades. The right combination of cards can lead to a powerful winning strategy.

Parallel features five unique factions with 15 game-changing leaders called Paragons, each offering their own abilities to help players create a distinct playstyle. The game offers various modes catering to different player preferences, including unranked, AI, rookie, Ranked Ladder, and Tournament Modes for both casual and competitive players.

Since its establishment in 2021, Parallel has achieved considerable success, winning multiple game of the year awards despite being in open beta. The studio has announced a 0,000 prize pool for its 2024 competitive scene and has enlisted professional players and content creators to join its ambassador program.

In an exciting development, Parallel will soon release an expansion set called Planetfall, introducing over 100 new cards to the game, with plans for additional expansion sets in the future. The game’s availability on Epic Games Store is expected to attract millions of players globally, coinciding with the launch of the Parallel League competitive series with substantial prize money.

Franklin Fitch, head of partnerships at Parallel Studios, expressed the studio’s commitment to expanding access to the game and scaling the competitive prize pool further in the coming years. CEO of Parallel, Sascha M, highlighted the significance of being on Epic as a milestone in the studio’s global expansion strategy.

Overall, Parallel’s debut on the Epic Games Store marks a significant step towards its goal of becoming a prominent player in the digital trading card game market.
