‘Skyfire SF2 Drone Chosen for Inclusion in Vantis Network Integration by Thales USA’

Skyfire Consulting, a prominent public safety UAS consulting group, has recently announced a partnership with Thales USA, a global leader in advanced technologies. The collaboration aims to integrate the Skyfire SF2 drone into Vantis, which is North Dakota’s advanced UAS operations system. Thales selected the Skyfire SF2 due to its versatility and payload-agnostic design, which are crucial for testing advanced airspace management tools and air traffic systems.

The Skyfire SF2 is recognized for its adaptability and is specifically designed for public safety, critical sectors, and medical delivery purposes. This American-made drone is a 22-inch mid-sized multirotor aircraft built to endure extreme environments commonly found across the United States.

Matt Sloane, the founder and CEO of Skyfire, expressed his gratitude for the partnership with Thales and the opportunity to contribute to the safety of airspace. Thales has already received the initial delivery of SF2 aircraft and plans to begin flights as the northern spring weather arrives. The selection of the Skyfire SF2 underscores its modular design and capability to carry various payloads, which are essential for Thales’ testing of instrument landing systems and other air traffic systems.

Sean Roy, UAS operations manager at Thales, highlighted the company’s pride in collaborating with industry leaders like Skyfire to provide comprehensive drone solutions. The partnership between Skyfire and Thales demonstrates a joint commitment to advancing UAS technology for public safety and critical sectors. The SF2’s payload-agnostic setup allows for the integration of diverse sensors, critical for testing Vantis’ advanced UAS integration capabilities and ensuring safer and more efficient airspace management.

Skyfire Consulting is a reputable public safety UAV consulting company in the US, specializing in pilot training, FAA consulting, SOP development, and the design and manufacturing of American-made drones for public safety agencies. Thales, a global leader in advanced technologies, invests in digital and “deep tech” innovations like connectivity, big data, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and quantum technologies. Thales offers solutions, services, and products to businesses, organizations, and governments across various domains.

This partnership between Skyfire and Thales signifies a significant step towards enhancing advanced UAS operations in North Dakota and underscores the importance of collaboration in driving innovation in the drone industry.
