The Up Studio

About

Based in New York City, The Up Studio is an award-winning studio that strives to bring joy to people’s lives through concept-driven architecture, interior, and brand design. Our architecture, interior architecture, and interior design can be found across the United States, with a special focus on the East Coast. We are currently in the early stages of launching projects internationally.
We believe that every design has a story to tell. To tell that story, we employ a multidisciplinary approach that combines broad ideas, diligent organization, and innovative tools, presented within a coherent narrative. Our projects are always site-specific, rooted in thoughtful design strategy, and led by our clients’ needs and dreams.
Since the founding of our studio in 2010, we’ve been obsessed with creating and refining an approachable process that never feels overwhelming to our clients. We begin by introducing broad architectural concepts for the project and gradually shift our focus to the smallest details of the home’s interior design or construction details. Every step of the way, we guide our clients to make sure we’re aligned on our vision for their home. We’re just as passionate about the design process as we are about design itself.
The Up Studio has been honored with awards from Dezeen, the Gray Awards, AIA, and Build Magazine, to name a few. Our work has been featured in publications such as Architectural Digest, Dwell, Curbed, Architectural Record, and Design Milk, as well as in programs such as America by Design on CBS and HGTV’s Island Life. In 2023, our Open Corner House was featured in Netflix’s hit film, Leave the World Behind, as the primary set of the film. As much of a thrill it is to see one of our projects on the big screen (alongside stars like Julia Roberts, Mahershala Ali, and Ethan Hawke), first and foremost, we design homes that bring real joy to real families.
