Huda Beauty Divests KAYALI: A New Era for the Fragrance Brand

0

PRWire:

DUBAI, Feb 20 (PRWire) – Dubai-based cosmetics powerhouse Huda Beauty announced on Monday the sale of its fragrance brand KAYALI to co-founder Mona Kattan and global growth equity firm General Atlantic, marking a significant shift in the beauty industry landscape.

The deal, subject to regulatory approval, will see KAYALI transition into an independent entity, with Mona Kattan retaining her position as CEO. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

STRATEGIC MOVE FOR BOTH BRANDS

This strategic move allows both Huda Beauty and KAYALI to focus on their respective growth trajectories. Huda Beauty, founded by beauty influencer turned entrepreneur Huda Kattan in 2013, will use the proceeds from the sale to fully redeem the ownership interest held by TSG Consumer Partners since 2017, returning the company to complete founder control.

“This decision reflects our commitment to growth on our own terms,” said Huda Kattan, founder and CEO of Huda Beauty. “We’re excited to continue evolving and inspiring within the beauty industry as an independent entity.”

KAYALI’S RAPID ASCENT

Launched in 2018 under the Huda Beauty umbrella, KAYALI has quickly established itself as a disruptive force in the fragrance industry. Known for its unique approach to modern perfumery and Middle Eastern-inspired scents, the brand has gained a strong following among fragrance enthusiasts and newcomers alike.

Mona Kattan, who has been the face and driving force behind KAYALI’s growth, expressed enthusiasm about the brand’s future. “From day one, our mission has been to create a fragrance brand that inspires confidence, creativity, and self-expression,” she stated. “This partnership with General Atlantic will unlock new opportunities and expand our global presence.”

FRAGRANCE MARKET GROWTH

The move comes at a time when the global fragrance market is experiencing robust growth. According to market research firm Euromonitor International, the global fragrance market is expected to reach $68.5 billion by 2026, up from $52.7 billion in 2021.

KAYALI is well-positioned to capitalize on this trend, particularly in the niche and luxury segments where consumers are increasingly seeking unique and personalized scent experiences.

GENERAL ATLANTIC’S STRATEGIC INVESTMENT

General Atlantic’s investment in KAYALI underscores the private equity firm’s confidence in the brand’s potential. Melis Kahya Akar, Managing Director and Head of Consumer for EMEA at General Atlantic, commented on the partnership: “Fragrance is one of the fastest-growing segments in the beauty industry, and KAYALI has redefined the sector through its imagination, authenticity, and emotional connection to consumers around the world.”

The firm’s expertise in scaling global brands is expected to play a crucial role in KAYALI’s next phase of growth, particularly in expanding its international footprint and accelerating product innovation.

IMPACT ON THE BEAUTY INDUSTRY

This transaction highlights the evolving dynamics of the beauty industry, where indie brands are increasingly gaining market share and attracting significant investment. It also underscores the growing importance of the Middle East in the global beauty landscape, with Dubai emerging as a hub for beauty innovation and entrepreneurship.

HUDA BEAUTY’S CONTINUED INFLUENCE

While divesting KAYALI, Huda Beauty remains a formidable force in the cosmetics world. With over 54 million Instagram followers, the brand’s social media presence far outpaces many of its competitors, providing a powerful platform for product launches and consumer engagement.

Huda Kattan’s decision to buy out TSG Consumer Partners and return Huda Beauty to full founder ownership is a rare move in the industry, potentially setting a new precedent for successful beauty startups.

As both Huda Beauty and KAYALI chart their independent courses, industry observers will be watching closely. The success of these brands could provide valuable insights into the future of founder-led beauty companies and the potential for niche fragrance brands to scale globally.

Goldman Sachs International acted as financial advisor to Huda Beauty, with Gibson Dunn serving as legal counsel. Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom provided legal advice to Mona Kattan, while Raymond James served as financial advisor to General Atlantic, with Latham & Watkins as legal advisor.

The completion of the transaction remains subject to customary closing conditions and regulatory approvals.

Aquiline Drones Embarks on Nationwide Campaign – Using Disruptive Technologies: Drones and AI cameras to Fight Unsightly Graffiti.

(Hartford, Conn) – February 20, 2025 – Unsightly graffiti is a menace to communities and metropolises, worldwide!  More than just a nuisance, graffiti is a form of vandalism, making it a crime that devalues property and consumes valuable police time and other public resources.

Moreover, graffiti negatively affects communities by creating a perception of neglect or disorder, lowering property values, deterring businesses, and contributing to feelings of insecurity among residents, especially if associated with gang activity or offensive content.

Globally, cities like Sydney invest in anti-graffiti technologies such as surveillance cameras and protective coatings on walls, to prevent graffiti before it happens.  Clearly however, these efforts, while seemingly progressive, prove inadequate by only scratching the surface.  As is the case with graffiti tagging, the problem recurs – even increasing and likely fostering retaliation by taggers.

Thankfully, a more complete solution has emerged. An absolute game-changer in the fight against graffiti by taking it one step farther and aiming to largely eradicate it.  This timely solution blends key technologies – smart cameras, artificial intelligence (AI) and graffiti drones…yes, drones, ready to get the job done once and for all!

CT-based Aquiline Drones (AD) – a drone technology enterprise, has debuted the only proven solution available today that is a complete and highly effective technology solution that can reduce the recurrence of graffiti by a factor of 10, especially in harder-to-reach areas.

Having successfully incubated this solution aided by prime customer, Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT), AD now embarks on a nationwide campaign targeting States, and their municipalities and regions to significantly reduce the occurrence of this problem.

“If technology benefits society, I say let it. And let’s be deliberate about success while we’re at it!” says Barry Alexander, Founder and CEO of Aquiline Drones.  “Time to make America clean again” Alexander continues.

Currently, graffiti-based vandalism is on a sharp increase in America – globally too, costing an estimated $12 billion (in the US alone) in annual cleanup expenses!  Even worse is that this expense is incurred by public entities and thus, taxpayers.  In most cases, residents also incur costs to remove graffiti from their private property.

Disruptive Technology that Works – AD’s Graffiti Abatement (GA) solution

AD’s GA solution is results-oriented.  Its primary goal is to significantly reduce graffiti tagging incidences nationwide by a factor of 10.  As an example, in Seattle, Washington, a city of approximately 755,000 residents, city agencies removed 5,000 graffiti tags in 2019 and 8,700 in 2021.  In 2023, KIRO-TV reported that there were around 20,000 graffiti reports in 2021 – a sharp and uncontrollable increase!

Using the city of Seattle again as an example, the city’s Graffiti Nuisance Ordinance requires property owners to remove graffiti within 10 days of receiving a notice.  If graffiti is gang or hate related, it must be removed within 48 hours.  Property owners who don’t remove graffiti within the 10-day window may face fines of up to $5,000.

Applying AD’s turnkey GA solution to the city of Seattle and its statistics, would probably realize a reduction in the number of graffiti tags from 20,000 (in 2023) to 2,000 while remaining sensitive to societal expression through acceptable forms of street art.  Contextually, while Seattle has an ordinance against graffiti tagging, the city does recognize the value of street art and has commissioned murals from local artist.

AD’s solution starts with surveillance.  Single or multiple sites can be monitored simultaneously, equipped with security cameras. AD’s cameras are solar powered, cloud connected via LTE and have night vision IR (infrared), with its live feed stored both locally and on AD’s proprietary cloud and backed up on Amazon Web Services (AWS).  AD’s AI framework accesses these camera feeds and uses Machine Vision to analyze the data to detect any human object(s) in the vicinity of the monitored sites.  This refined model uses AI detection to identify specific acts such as graffiti painting, other illegal acts, loitering, etc.  The camera data is then analyzed and persons detected in the vicinity triggers email notifications to email addresses supplied by the Department of Transportation (DoT) and sent to Traffic Management Centers (TMCs) and law enforcement.  Analyzed data is stored and made available to the client(s).  Data transmission and storage occurs within the US, on local servers.

AD’s framework utilizes domestic LTE carriers along with AWS (Amazon’s cloud) as backup to the AD Cloud, which provides the highest levels of data security.

AD’s GA solution is broken down into two distinctive phases: 1) Surveillance/monitoring, analytics, and push notification; and 2) Graffiti abatement using AD’s Spartacus Endure drones.

  1. For surveillance, AD uses AI enabled smart cameras to provide real time monitoring while computing on the edge, to detect occurrences of graffiti and vandalism. For suspected incidents, AD uses highly accurate computer vision and machine learning on the AD Cloud to further eliminate false positives.  This process is highly autonomous and strongly protective of all personally identifiable information (PII) from the processed data.
  2. Graffiti Abatement (GA). At center stage of the solution is AD’s anti-graffiti drone – the Spartacus Endure, Power-Washing, Painting & Graffiti drone, which is the most versatile in its class. The Endure is the only drone on the market capable of performing multiple challenging tasks using the same drone by simply swapping out its payload (its undercarriage).

Customers can choose from an assortment of payloads: spray bars, straight lances, carrying baskets, winches, cameras/sensors, seed spreaders/hoppers, ag spraying tanks and bars, droppers (used for lifeguard pontoon drops), etc. to have an absolute workhorse like no other!

“Think of the Endure as your trusted John Deere tractor. Change out the bucket and off you go.” Alexander continues.

The versatility of AD’s Spartacus Endure drone is what makes it unique. It’s literally unmatched, giving users’ ultimate freedom and flexibility.  This versatility is highly-beneficial to those customers already owning an Endure drone, for example, increasing its utility by targeting seasonal work.

Existing Endure owners or prospective customers wanting to start their own power-washing or painting and graffiti-removal business now have the right tool to target these never-ending graffiti removal contracting opportunities.   On the public sector (municipalities) side of things, customers can perform different tasks within their jurisdiction, using the same drone.

Imagine municipalities across its many regions using the same drone or a fleet of drones simultaneously, to target multiple sites for graffiti removal and then switch out payloads if desired, in three minutes or less to go power-wash overhead retro reflective highway signage, or to go de-ice electrical pylons, etc. The list goes on, and on!

In his final report, Mike Gauger, Maintenance Superintendent at WASDOT and program visionary adds “The drone program provides a very effective additional tool for graffiti removal in locations where it can mitigate the risk of employee injury due to the graffiti’s precarious locations. It also provides a more cost-effective way to handle graffiti removal from all locations where specialized equipment is required”

Mike concludes by saying “The use of drones to remove graffiti in dangerous and difficult locations is also a better use of resources.  It takes less time to remove the graffiti with a drone compared to traditional methods, which deters “retagging.” His story is shared in this short, but one of many, YouTube videos:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iVbHRiLVveE

AD provides the entire solution and gives customers the option to pick from an a-la-carte menu:

  • Drones and associated hardware (built in-house – made in America, Hartford CT.)
  • Surveillance cameras/hardware (vendor supplied). Back-end digital dashboard, AI analytics, push notifications, etc. (all done by AD)
  • Training (online, in-house and onsite option). Online training: AD’s proprietary online prep course (Flight to the Future or F2F). Watch YouTube video tutorial: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hgd0zD-mcw4&t=17s

Golf Saudi ambassadors Charley Hull, Ruoning Yin and Danielle Kang speak to media ahead of the PIF Saudi Ladies International

World No.9 Charley Hull: ‘I don’t want to just be a golfer. I want to be an athlete. I train for my mental health.”

Riyadh, Saudi Arabia [February 12, 2025] As the PIF Saudi Ladies International tees off tomorrow, World No.11 Charley Hull is embracing the challenge, not just on the course but in her athletic pursuits beyond golf.

The English star, known for her fearless approach, emphasized her commitment to overall fitness and well-being ahead of the tournament at Riyadh Golf Club.

“My main goal actually isn’t on the golf course. I want to try and get my 5k run time down to 20 minutes by the end of the year. It’s around 26 minutes at the moment,” Hull revealed.

“I don’t train in golf. I have zero interest in training in golf. I don’t want to just be a golfer. I want to be an athlete. I train because it’s good for my mental health and it’s good for me. I just enjoy it as a hobby.”

Hull is set to team up with Germany’s Chiara Noja, whom she faced in a thrilling playoff battle at the 2022 Aramco Team Series presented by PIF – Jeddah. Reflecting on Noja’s development, Hull praised her teammate.

“Yeah, she’s super. She’s a really good player. I’ve got Maria Fassi on my team as well. I think it’s just going to be super fun and it’s nice to have people to chat to out there. I just want to have fun on the golf course and feel like part of a team.”

The PIF Saudi Ladies International features a unique format with 28 teams of four professional as the top two scores on each hole count towards the team score. Hull sees this as an opportunity for more aggressive play.

“You obviously don’t have an amateur so with another professional and the top two scores counting, there’s plenty of chances to make a lot of birdies.”

One of the tournament’s most significant milestones is its equal prize fund to the men’s event, the PIF Saudi International powered by SoftBank Investment Advisers, an important step forward for women’s golf.

World No.3 Ruoning Yin is making her Saudi Arabia debut and shared her first impressions of Riyadh Golf Club.

“Well, I think the setup is pretty fair, and like Charley says, it’s a scorable course. If you’re striking it well, you can make a lot of birdies, and I think you’ll see we have a lot of birdie chances. I think the breeze is going to make this course a little bit trickier, but overall, it’s a good test for the field.”

Despite being the highest-ranked player in the field, Yin remains unfazed by expectations.

“No, I don’t think I feel any pressure. I come out to play each week. I just try to play the best and have fun.”

The tournament also features American star Danielle Kang, who has thrived in team formats throughout her career, captaining her team to victory at the 2024 Aramco Team Series presented by PIF – Korea,

“I’ve always really liked competing in team sports in general. I like the team aspect of golf. The men have the whole team thing going on with LIV Golf, and they have something to move for that’s a team more than just you. I don’t know, I think it just brings out the best in me whenever I get to play for someone else.”

Kang is particularly excited to be teaming up with Ruoning Yin this week, highlighting their strong connection.

“It’s the best pairing I could have asked for. She’s like my little sister out here. She got to pick me, and I was actually watching her pick me on her phone.

“I was selfishly thinking that I’ve been going through so much stuff, and she was part of that process for me coming back and having her in the group with me would be really good for me, personally, to play the best that I could play.”

As the PIF Saudi Ladies International tees off, the world’s top players are ready to compete on one of the most exciting stages in women’s golf, with the historic prize fund setting a new standard for the sport.

Aquiline Drones (AD) partners with Drone Volt (ALDRV) to advance LineDrone technology for power-line inspection services in the US.

(HARTFORD, CONN) February 10, 2025 – Aquiline Drones (AD) signs historic licensing agreement with long-time partner Drone Volt SA (ALDRV) to introduce and provide electrical power line inspection services in the United States using the LineDrone – a unique combination of advanced and pioneering technology.

AD, a leading U.S.-based drone technology enterprise, has announced a strategic partnership with Drone Volt to introduce and expand the capabilities of the LineDrone to the US market. Dubbed an engineering marvel, the LineDrone is a specialized unmanned aerial system (UAS) developed in collaboration with Hydro-Québec – Canada’s largest energy producer. This groundbreaking technology is designed to revolutionize the inspection and maintenance of high- voltage power lines, by offering advanced, non-contact measurement solutions.

Hydro-Québec is renowned not only for its extensive hydroelectric power generation but also for its significant investments in research and development, particularly in robotics for power line inspection and maintenance. The company’s research is primarily conducted through its Institute de recherche d’Hydro-Québec (IREQ), established in 1967.

Using artificial intelligence (AI) to control the drones and analyze acquired data – along with other pioneering technologies, Aquiline Drones will introduce and deploy LineDrone inspection services nationwide.

The LineDrone is the only drone – globally, capable of landing on live high-voltage lines (315,000 volts / 2,000 A) to conduct inspections by traversing the power lines using a unique motorized rolling system – LineOhm and LineCore probes, to analyze and document the condition of overhead conductors without having to de-energize the line. The LineDrone is also engineered to perform critical diagnostics on live transmission lines using state-of-the-art sensors to conduct high-precision inspections, including resistance measurements, corrosion assessments, and splice evaluations, without requiring power outages. This innovation significantly reduces operational risks while enhancing grid reliability and efficiency.

By reducing the need for costly helicopter and high-risk manual inspections, the LineDrone represents a safer, more cost-effective, and environmentally friendly alternative for the energy industry. With increasing demand for efficient grid management solutions, this collaborative effort aims to redefine how utility companies monitor and maintain their critical infrastructure.

Aquiline Drones will leverage its extensive expertise in autonomous drone operations and regulatory compliance to help deploy the LineDrone technology for utility companies and infrastructure service providers throughout the US.

“Our collaboration with Drone Volt aligns perfectly with our mission to deliver cutting-edge drone solutions that enhance safety, efficiency, and sustainability,” said Barry Alexander, Founder and CEO of Aquiline Drones. “By incorporating advanced AI and cloud technology into the LineDrone system, we aim to set a new industry standard for high-voltage power line inspections” Alexander says.

Like AD’s Flight to the Future (F2F) online drone training course – in scope and scale, the LineDrone project aims to train a workforce of professional drone service providers (DSPs) to then participate as professional LineDrone DSPs (LDSPs). The US has 600,000 + miles of transmission lines that move electricity from power plants to cities and towns nationwide.

The following is an overview of F2F: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hgd0zD-mcw4

AD aims to expand the distribution of LineDrone services within the US, to provide high-tech job opportunities as LDSPs. Under the agreement AD will provide the following:

  • Expanded distribution of LineDrone services across the USA.
  • Specialized drone pilot training for operational support to energy sector professionals adopting the technology. AD-trained pilots or drone service providers (DSPs) could then work as AD affiliates – ensuring FAA compliance and integration with evolving U.S. drone regulations: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u_Hul4xensc
  • Competitive commercial liability insurance and warranty options to the US drone marketplace, primarily focusing on individuals and entities trained through our Various insurance coverages will be available for purchase through Aquiline Drones Indemnity Corporation (ADIC).
  • Contracted opportunities for LDSPs through extended Service Level Agreements (SLAs) held by AD, under contract with industry stakeholders.

Transmission lines require rigorous and routine maintenance, involving inspection processes that are typically less-safe, cumbersome and more restrictive than what can be more easily achieved using an AI drone solution. Regional Transmission Organizations (RTOs) can now use this much safer LineDrone system to replace having to shut down lines, and can realize significant manpower and equipment savings, often done with the addition of helicopters and linesmen.

“This agreement extends our existing partnership with Aquiline Drones and enables AD to include specific and adapted drones as part of a proven next generation power grid infrastructure inspection system” says Marc Courcelle, CEO of DroneVolt SA. Aquiline Drones is able to provide an entire ecosystem of AI controlled drones, inspection data analysis, FAA pilot training, operating liability insurance and lifetime system support of each client. No other drone provider in the US can offer this broadly encompassing and complete solution.

Aquiline Drones Corporation (AD) is an all-American drone technology company specializing in drone manufacturing, artificial intelligence (AI), and superior drone pilot training. AD is also self-insured through Aquiline Drones Indemnity Corporation (ADIC). AD’s core management comprises highly experienced aviators, systems engineers, IT gurus, military personnel (including veterans), and business strategists. While Mānuka honey has become synonymous with luxury —like the jars you’ll find at Erewhon, MN8 is taking it up a notch. Handcrafted on a family farm in Waipu, New Zealand, each batch of Mānuka Gold Extract boasts an extraordinary 35-45% higher triketone level— offering an unmatched solution for those serious about skincare. This potent extract works wonders on everything from acne to premature aging, stimulating 59% higher collagen production than Vitamin C. With limited quantities available, this exclusive product launch is poised to create a wave of excitement and demand among skincare enthusiasts and experts alike.

From construction to skincare visionary

The story behind MN8 is as unique as the product itself. Founder Jaxon Dobson—a 29-year-old builder, surfer, and snowboarder—never imagined he’d lead a skincare revolution. After discovering the remarkable effects of Mānuka Gold Extract on his own skin, he knew his family was onto something special.

“When I tried it on my skin for the first time, I couldn’t believe the results. My UV damage started healing, and dry patches disappeared,” Jaxon shares. That moment sparked the journey from constructing LA’s hottest spots like Great White Venice and Larchmont to developing the skincare brand in a secluded yurt in New Zealand.

Celebrity buzz and exclusive pre-sale

After returning to LA with samples, Jaxon quickly stirred up excitement among Hollywood’s elite. While showing the product to friends, he caught the attention of actor Henry Golding, and influencers like The Unlikely Florist and The Caker are already lining up to feature MN8.

The hype is real, and the buzz around MN8’s upcoming pre-sale is undeniable. With its potent formula and androgynous, futuristic design, MN8 is the must-have skincare brand of 2024.

Experience the Mānuka revolution

Set to launch exclusively in Los Angeles, MN8 is bringing New Zealand’s best-kept secret to the forefront of skincare innovation. For more information and to secure your spot in the exclusive pre-sale, visit https://mn8skincare.com or follow us on social media @mn8skincare.

MFMC’s Triumphant Presence at Future Hospitality Summit (FHS) World 2024, Dubai

PRWire:

The Maldives Fund Management Corporation (MFMC) participated in the prestigious Future Hospitality Summit (FHS) 2024, held in Dubai from September 30th to October 2nd. As a government-backed organization driving investment in the Maldives, MFMC represented the island nation by sharing insights into investment opportunities, sustainability initiatives, and the future of the Maldivian tourism industry.

MFMC, a key player in the economic landscape of the Maldives, has been entrusted with steering
investment toward strategic sectors essential for the country’s sustainable growth. Its core focus areas include tourism, infrastructure, and renewable energy, sectors vital to supporting the Maldives’ national development goals. Through its investment efforts, MFMC aims to strengthen the economy while fostering long-term sustainability across these industries.

The Future Hospitality Summit, renowned for bringing together global leaders, policymakers, investors, and experts in hospitality, was a key platform for MFMC to highlight its initiatives. This year’s summit was centered around themes such as Real Estate Hotelisation, Sustainable Construction, and Technological Innovation, with a special emphasis on how these trends will shape the future of hospitality and global investment. These themes resonate with MFMC’s commitment to integrating sustainability and technology into its tourism development projects.

During the summit, MFMC took the opportunity to unveil several of its major tourism initiatives during a panel discussion titled ‘Building the Future: The Changing Face of Market and Investor Growth in the Maldives.’ Eezan Shahul Hameed, Chief Commercial Officer of MFMC, spoke on the panel alongside notable industry figures such as Amman Shah, Executive Director of Dubai Holdings Investment, Tony Miki, Partner at Foster and Partners, Majd Hamamouchi, Corporate Business Development Director of TIME Hotels. The panel examined the evolving market landscape and investor interest in the Maldives, with a special focus on MFMC’s role in shaping the future of the country’s tourism sector. Additionally, MFMC’s Managing Director, Ahmed Nazim, contributed to the event as a member of the advisory board for FHS, further solidifying the corporation’s involvement in the summit’s strategic discussions.

Beyond this session, MFMC actively participated in several other key discussions at FHS. ‘New Horizons Ahead: Trends and Developments in Tomorrow’s Designs,’ and ‘Branded Residences: A New Era in Real Estate Investment.’ These discussions provided MFMC with the opportunity to showcase its strategic vision for the Maldivian tourism industry, particularly in terms of leveraging emerging trends to drive sustainable growth and attract global investors.

A highlight of this year’s summit was the introduction of ‘Country Pavilions,’ a new feature designed to
spotlight emerging hospitality projects and highlight investment opportunities in high-ROI ventures from different nations. As the official representative of the Maldives, MFMC used this platform to present some of its flagship tourism projects. Among them were the Gaafaru Integrated Tourism Development Project, Hankede Integrated Tourism Development Project, Addu Nature Park, and the Dhiyaneru Yacht Marina and Safari Harbour. These projects reflect MFMC’s ambition to diversify the Maldives’ tourism sector and drive the next phase of growth.

The Gaafaru Integrated Tourism Development Project, for instance, involves the creation of two luxury
resorts and 14 private islands within the same lagoon. For the first time in the Maldives, these private islands will be available for sale to individual buyers under long-term lease agreements of up to 99 years. This unprecedented move will allow buyers to develop their own private homes on the islands. Additionally,

MFMC will be offering a residency-by-investment program tied to the sale of these real estate properties, providing buyers with benefits such as multi-entry visas, fast-track services, and tax savings. MFMC also introduced the Hankede Integrated Tourism Development Project, located in the southernmost atoll of Addu. Set to begin in November 2024, this ambitious project will transform the region into a premier tourism destination. The development will feature an array of facilities, including grand and deluxe hotels, restaurants, water sports centers, and other attractions, all within a designated tourism zone. Upon completion, the zone will offer over 1,000 rooms (2,088 beds) and a real estate component, including serviced apartments, beach villas, and water villas available for purchase.

Another key project showcased was the Dhiyaneru Yacht Marina and Safari Harbour, which is designed to cater to the growing number of superyachts and safari vessels visiting the Maldives. Strategically located near Velana International Airport, just five minutes by speedboat, this development will feature a state-of- the-art mooring and berthing harbor, a yacht club, hotels, and restaurants, enhancing the Maldives’ appeal as a top destination for high-end travelers.

Last month, President of the Maldives, Dr. Mohamed Muizzu, announced the government’s plans to roll out a residency-by-investment program, designed to attract foreign capital and create new investment opportunities in the country. This initiative is seen as a pivotal move for the Maldives, aligning its investment strategy with global destinations like Dubai that have successfully evolved into business-driven hubs. The Maldives Fund Management Corporation (MFMC) aims to utilize this program to boost investor interest in its real estate components of the projects currently undertaken by the corporation, further elevating the attractiveness of its current developments.

MFMC’s participation in the Future Hospitality Summit 2024 was met with keen interest from industry
leaders, investors, and policymakers. The corporation’s pavilion attracted significant attention, and MFMC is optimistic that the connections made at the summit will lead to fruitful collaborations and investments in the Maldives’ tourism future. Through its pioneering efforts, MFMC continues to play a pivotal role in transforming the tourism landscape of the Maldives and driving sustainable economic development in the
country.
