‘Latest Hybrid Model Surpasses Previous V6 Version’

Toyota has introduced a high-powered hybrid powertrain option for its 2024 Tacoma lineup, featuring the new 2.4-liter i-Force Max engine that delivers 326 horsepower and 465 pound-feet of torque to all four wheels through an eight-speed automatic transmission. The redesigned Tacoma offers eight versions, including SR, SR5, TRD models, as well as new luxury Limited and off-road Trailhunter editions. This vehicle excels on trails and rocky roads, equipped with features like a disconnecting stabilizer bar, impressive approach, breakover, and departure angles, and off-road cameras for added convenience.

The 2024 Toyota Tacoma provides a range of engine options, with the i-Force Max being the most robust, making it a true enthusiast truck. The hybrid powertrain includes a 2.4-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine paired with a 48-hp electric motor and a 1.87-kWh battery, delivering its 465 pound-feet of torque at a low rpm of 1,700 while achieving an EPA-estimated 24 miles per gallon combined. Equipped with features like Bilstein remote reservoir shocks and an eight-speed transmission with a specialized shifting strategy, the Tacoma is optimized for various terrains.

The Tacoma TRD and Trailhunter versions boast part-time four-wheel drive and a two-speed transfer case, with an electronic locking rear differential as a standard feature on certain grades. The luxury-focused Limited grade with the i-Force Max engine offers a full-time four-wheel-drive system with a center locking differential, providing a smooth and quiet ride on the highway, excellent passing power, and responsive shifts. The vehicle also offers multiple driving modes for a customizable experience.

Although the 2024 Toyota Tacoma with the i-Force Max engine comes at a higher price point compared to base models, it competes with top trims of other midsize trucks in terms of power and capability. With its aggressive looks, off-road credibility, and reasonable pricing, the Tacoma is a popular choice among consumers seeking a versatile and capable truck. The vehicle’s hybrid powertrain option and advanced off-road features make it suitable for various terrains and driving conditions, ensuring a comfortable and enjoyable driving experience.
